Jodrell Arms Hotel

Whaley Bridge

The Jodrell Arms Hotel is a grade II listed hotel building with Victorian Jacobean front elevation but C16 origins. In 2008 Bench Architects obtained Planning and Listed Buildings consents for the modernisation of the building and conversion to a gastro-pub/hotel. Detailed analysis of the building was carried out determining the chronology of the existing structure, and coordinated specialist consultants for structural, timber and paint analysis.

The Jodrell Arms Hotel presents a unique opportunity to repair and upgrade a historically significant site in the centre of Whaley Bridge. The Jodrell Arms is a traditional local pub and place of community assembly in the town. The premises have been closed since 2007.
