St John's Church

The Grade II listed St. John’s Church was built in around 1833 in the Gothic style, and comprises a simple aisless nave with a short tower, constructed from local red brick. The current chancel, vestry and organ were added to the East end of the original church in several phases during the late 19^th and early 20^th Centuries, incorporating decorative moulded and carved sandstone elements including a four pointed arched tracery East window.
